Role Overview:

The Production Forklift Operator has the primary responsibility for operating a forklift to move Finished Goods from the Automated Palletising Stations to the Pallet Wrapper, and the movement of the Finished Goods from the Pallet Wrapper to the Warehouse Holding Area.

A secondary function is to Operate the PPT for the transfer of Raw Materials to and from the production lines to ensure uninterrupted production. This Operator must be able to cover both the primary and secondary functions on a rotational basis.

The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the forklifts and PPT’s. The Production Forklift Operator is also responsible for general housekeeping in the production areas.

Role Deliverables:

• Carry out all duties in accordance with health and safety regulations, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and standard work instructions (SWIs) /product specifications
• Maintain the facility’s equipment, work area and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
• Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
• Daily inspection and minor maintenance on the forklift and PPT.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.

Primary And Secondary

• Retrieve finished good pallets from robots and deliver to pallet wrapper
• Retrieve wrapped finished good pallets from pallet wrapper and deliver to finished good storage area
• Product to storage locations.
• Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas.
• Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas and deliver to production operator.
• Retrieve RM from production staging racking at high level and place at low level
• Returning stock from production to the warehouse
• Assist in physical inventories - Stock counting
• Keep appropriate records to guarantee tight inventory control.
• Assisting in Quality and Quantity checks of goods received

Back up assistance for WH

• Replenish pallets RM for Robot palletisers
• Deliver RM anti slip sheets to operators for Robots
• Retrieve and deliver RM edge boards to operator for pallet wrapper
• Retrieve and deliver RM stretch wrap to operator for pallet wrappers.
• Must be willing to carry out other duties where reasonably required outside of the above.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Up to date Forklift operator certification
• 1+ years recent forklift driving experience in a warehouse or production environment
• Good observational skills with a high degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; experience in promoting a safe work environment.
• Demonstrated ability to follow instructions for operating & maintaining equipment and keeping records
• Experience in executing responsibilities in a fast-paced Production or warehouse area, in an accurate, timely and safe manner
• Ability to maintain a clean, tidy & safe working area.
• Ability to use warehouse equipment and technology such as an RF scanner gun
• Clean driving record and a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license may be required
• Fluent in English verbal & written, Basic numeracy skills.
