Key Account Manager Germany & Austria
Role Purpose
As the Key Account Manager for Germany & Austria, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of WaterWipes in two of our most strategic markets. You will lead the execution of our commercial strategy, focusing on expanding physical availability, optimising route-to-market models, and unlocking new channels and partnerships.

Role Responsibilities
Strategic Market Development
Lead the creation and execution of a comprehensive business roadmap for Germany & Austria, ensuring alignment with regional and global commercial strategies.
Identify emerging trends and opportunities to strengthen WaterWipes’ market position across retail, drugstore, and online channels.
Account Management & Growth
Build and maintain strong relationships with key retail and distribution partners, acting as the primary point of contact for all commercial matters.
Negotiate annual agreements, promotional plans, and joint business plans to maximise profitability and market share.
Drive portfolio expansion by introducing new products and formats tailored to local consumer needs.
Sales Forecasting & Performance Tracking
Deliver accurate and timely sales forecasts, ensuring optimal stock levels and smooth supply chain operations.
Monitor performance against KPIs, proactively addressing gaps and implementing corrective actions.
Marketing & Activation
Collaborate with the brand activation team to plan and execute impactful in-store and online campaigns.
Ensure flawless execution of promotional activities, leveraging shopper insights to optimize visibility and conversion.
Data-Driven Decision Making
Utilise advanced analytics and category insights to influence top-to-top negotiations and strategic decisions.
Provide actionable recommendations based on market intelligence, competitor analysis, and consumer trends.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with internal teams including Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Regulatory to deliver seamless execution.
Act as a key liaison between headquarters and local partners, ensuring alignment and timely communication.
Compliance & Governance
Ensure adherence to company policies, pricing guidelines, and regulatory requirements across all activities.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential (Non-Negotiable):
Relevant third-level qualification in Business, Marketing, or related field.
Minimum 5+ years of experience in FMCG key account management with proven success in driving growth and profitability.
Deep understanding of the German retail landscape (LEH) and strong experience with drugstore channels (dm, Rossmann, Müller).
Demonstrated ability to manage complex negotiations and annual agreements with major retail partners.
Strong commercial acumen with advanced knowledge of P&L management and financial analysis.
Ability to leverage data and insights to influence strategic decisions and optimise performance.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with CRM or sales management systems.
Fluent in German and English (written and spoken).
Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Results-driven, highly organised, and adaptable to fast-paced environments.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and long-term relationships.
Desirable (Value Adding)
Experience managing online accounts such as ShopApo, DocMorris.
Exposure to matrix organisations and cross-functional collaboration.
Additional European language.
Industry certifications in sales, negotiation, or category management.
Experience with digital tools, e-commerce strategies, or emerging retail technologies.
Qualifications & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related discipline
Equivalent experience (5+ years in a similar role) may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
