QC Laboratory Technician

Quality is not simply a final check. It is built through accurate testing, sound judgement and consistent attention to detail.

We are looking for a QC Laboratory Technician to help safeguard the quality and safety of WaterWipes products. This is a hands-on laboratory role for someone who takes ownership of their work, respects the importance of data integrity and knows when to act or escalate.

You will join our Quality team in Drogheda and perform microbiological and quality control testing within WaterWipes’ in-house laboratory.

Your work will help ensure that raw materials, finished products and supporting processes meet our internal, customer and regulatory requirements. You will also support product trials, laboratory investigations, audit readiness and improvements to how we work.

What You’ll Be Accountable For

• Performing environmental monitoring, water monitoring, microbial limit testing and other quality control testing in line with approved methods.

• Testing raw materials and finished products using aseptic techniques and safe working practices.

• Supporting method qualification and validation for new and existing products.

• Operating, calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment to produce accurate and reliable results.

• Supporting Innovation and Technical teams with trials, process simulations and microbiological or analytical testing.

• Preparing samples for analysis by external laboratories when required.

• Maintaining accurate laboratory records, reports, logs and quality documentation.

• Recording non-conformances and supporting root-cause investigations and corrective actions.

• Providing laboratory data and technical input for customer complaint investigations.

• Supporting internal, customer and third-party audits.

• Contributing to improvements in laboratory procedures, SOPs and safe systems of work.

• Managing laboratory consumables and maintaining a safe, organised and compliant working environment.

Who This Role Is For

This role is for someone with a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or another relevant scientific discipline and at least one year’s experience working in a GLP laboratory environment.

You will need practical experience in microbiological or quality control testing, including the use of aseptic techniques. Experience gained within manufacturing, FMCG, pharmaceuticals or medical devices would be particularly relevant.

You should also be comfortable working with laboratory equipment, producing precise factual records and organising testing activities against defined timelines.

Experience in an ISO 17025-accredited laboratory, method validation, growth promotion testing, audit preparation, technical reporting or data trending would add value, but these areas are not essential.

Location & Practicalities

This is an onsite role based in Drogheda, Co. Louth, Ireland.

The role reports to the Quality Team Leader.
